LEADERSHIP
Mr. Mims founded Academy Securities in 2009 and provides overall leadership, strategy, and direction as Academy’s Chief Executive Officer. Prior to launching Academy Securities, Mr. Mims founded and led a San Diego, California-based boutique real estate brokerage, mortgage, and property management firm.
Previously, Mr. Mims served as a naval officer onboard the USS SENTRY MCM-3 and the USS JOHN PAUL JONES DDG-53 guided missile destroyer enforcing UN sanctions against Iraq and taking part in the initial strikes into Afghanistan during OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
Mr. Mims holds a BS in Economics from the US Naval Academy and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Mr. Mims is a licensed California Real Estate Broker and holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.
Mrs. Rizk is the Founder of Counter Human Trafficking Compliance Solutions (CHTCS). CHTCS provides corporations and businesses with the services and technological solutions needed to better manage the risk of slave labor and/or human trafficking in the supply chain.
Mrs. Rizk is also the Co-Founder and CFO of Rizk Ventures, a New York City-based investment platform and leads the Rizk Ventures philanthropic initiative by supporting and partnering with countless charitable organizations to promote awareness for the needs of injured service members, to support youth education initiatives, and to combat the effects of poverty.
Mrs. Rizk received her B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University Douglass College and worked in public finance as an investment banker while completing her M.B.A. in Finance from Pace University.
Mr. McConkey is the President and a Partner at Academy Securities, where he’s responsible for overall leadership and overseeing daily operations, as well as business development and equities. He has experience in the fields of asset management, trading, alternative investment strategies, and investment banking. Mr. McConkey uses that same leadership experience and skill set in his role at Academy Compliance.
Mr. McConkey played six years in the NFL following his military service and is best remembered for his touchdown catch in Super Bowl XXI for the New York Giants. He also played for the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals, and San Diego Chargers. In addition, he was a broadcaster for the New York Giants, CBS Sports, and FOX NY, where he won two New York Sports Emmy’s for his work on “Giants Today.”
Mr. McConkey holds a B.S. in Engineering from the US Naval Academy. He also has FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 65 and 55 licenses.
Mr. Wiley, Chief Operating Officer of Counter Human Trafficking Compliance Solutions (CHTCS), brings decades of operational and leadership experience to both CHTCS, and now also Academy Compliance. Mr. Wiley has extensive experience in Human Intelligence and Signals Intelligence collections and analysis, and currently holds the nation’s highest level of security clearance.
Mr. Wiley has experience in concept development, detail planning, briefing, instruction, and has conducted surveillance, security, undercover operations, and complex investigations. He has served as an operator, instructor, and team lead for numerous high level Protective Services Detail operations for presidents, heads of state, and private parties throughout the world.
Mr. Wiley has received a succession of awards and commendations from the United States Marine Corps, Special Operations Command, Law Enforcement, and the Intelligence Service. Mr. Wiley received a B.A./B.S. from the University of Colorado and has earned several certifications through his training and schooling at the Department of Defense and other Intelligence agencies.
Mr. Graham is Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and a Partner at Academy Securities, where he contributes overall leadership while overseeing all treasury and general operations and serves in a similar role at Academy Compliance.
Previously, Mr. Graham worked for Lehman Brothers, Inc. as a Sales Associate in fixed income trading, specializing in bond and credit default swap transactions on behalf of institutional clients. Prior to this, he was a Commissioned Officer of the United States Navy and served as a Division Officer on board the USS JOHN PAUL JONES DDG 53 guided missile destroyer and USS THACH FFG 43 guided missile frigate where he completed two deployments to the Persian Gulf enforcing UN sanctions against Iraq.
Mr. Graham is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School. He holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, 27, 52, 53 and 63 licenses.
Ms. Washburn is the Head of the Geopolitical Intelligence Group at Academy Securities. Ms. Washburn served six years in the U.S. Army as an Intelligence Officer. While serving, Ms. Washburn deployed twice to Afghanistan; first as a member of the pioneer Cultural Support Team attached to Special Forces and second as an intelligence Platoon Leader. Since leaving the Army in 2016, Ms. Washburn continued to pursue a career addressing global security and instability, most recently acting as a regional director with a nonprofit focused on bringing relief in the wake of disasters and armed conflicts. Ms. Washburn is a graduate of Drexel University.
